October 2019

Kingscliff High School is participating in CanTeen’s National Bandanna Day on Thursday 24th October this year and bandannas will be on sale from week 2 of Term 4. The funds raised from our bandanna sales will help CanTeen to provide both practical and emotional support for young people living with cancer. Ten bandannas will help pay for one young person to attend a CanTeen Recreation Day and have a break from the daily pressures of living with cancer while twenty bandannas will help pay for a young person who has lost a parent or sibling to cancer to attend a weekend program where they learn to understand grief and develop skills to manage it. Bandannas will be on sale from Miss Flick (HSIE) and Mr Wilson (Maths) in their staffrooms or find one of our awesome volunteers who will be selling them

Kingscliff High School is taking steps to listen to and learn from student voice.  Check out an article (page 5) that was recently published in the latest issue of Connect - the magazine supporting student participation. Data from our events has already been shared with school staff and students and there is more to come this term. https://research.acer.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1248&context=connect [pdf-embedder url="https://www.kingscliff.nsw.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Connect-239_Voice-cafe-article.pdf" title="Connect 239_Voice cafe article"]
