Queensland/NSW Border update Based on available information to date from the Public Health Order, current advice is detailed below. Further advice will be provided if the situation changes. Students and Staff from Queensland From 4pm Saturday 31 July 2021, 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in South East Queensland are subject to restrictions for lockdown. Staff who are Queensland residents can continue to attend NSW schools in the border zone for work and education as a reasonable excuse. Students who are Queensland residents can attend school if their parent/carer is undertaking essential work or volunteering or the student needs to attend because of vulnerable circumstances. It is recommended that families seek advice through QLD Health to confirm necessary arrangements. Tomorrow Year 10 students are asked to attend the below presentations during Period 3 if they relate to them. If not, they should go to class. Rolls will be taken in meetings and entered onto Sentral. ATAR and prerequisites - Library - Mr Ella TVET - in the TLS – Beth (if you are keen to include a TAFE subject in your selections). Our families will be aware of our “Off & Away” trial approach to managing student access to mobile phones during school hours which was carried out in Term 1. This is a process which I have outlined to our school community through a number of issues of “Kingy Spirit” since late last year. After evaluating the trial and our capacity to support student wellbeing and high quality learning in our classrooms, we have decided to become a Yondr school, starting from next week. Representatives from Yondr would normally visit our school for the implementation process, and in doing so provide a parent and carer information evening. Currently, this is not possible due to the ongoing lockdown conditions in Sydney. Year 10 Subject selection expo will be held this Friday 30 July. During the day students will not attend normal lessons but will attend several information sessions regarding the subjects on offer for Stage 6. This will be followed by subject selection interviews on Tuesday 3 August.

Student Academic Reports for Semester One are now available on our Parent Portal. Please contact our Front Office if you either require support in accessing the Portal, or would prefer a hard copy of your student’s report. Our apologies for the delay in providing these reports.

Due to current COVID restrictions, the Parent Teacher Nights scheduled for 22 and 29 July have been postponed. As soon as we are advised that we can proceed with the Parent Teacher Nights, we will notify you of the new date and arrangements.
