Kingscliff High School is participating in CanTeen’s National Bandanna Day on Thursday 24th October this year and bandannas will be on sale from week 2 of Term 4.
The funds raised from our bandanna sales will help CanTeen to provide both practical and emotional support for young people living with cancer. Ten bandannas will help pay for one young person to attend a CanTeen Recreation Day and have a break from the daily pressures of living with cancer while twenty bandannas will help pay for a young person who has lost a parent or sibling to cancer to attend a weekend program where they learn to understand grief and develop skills to manage it.
Bandannas will be on sale from Miss Flick (HSIE) and Mr Wilson (Maths) int their staffrooms or find one of our awesome volunteers who will be selling them at lunch and recess.
Our bandannas are $5 for a regular bandanna, $15 for a satin bandanna or $5 for a pen.
If you wish to donate to this cause but are not interested in buying merchandise, you can support us through our online fundraising at the following link:
On Thursday 17th October, all yr7 students listened to a talk from CanTeen. Students now should have an increased understanding on CanTeen and the services they offer and have an increased knowledge and confidence in applying skills of how to support somebody living with cancer.
