LATEST NEWS

12 February 2021 – Year 7 students are settling into high school science. They are midway through their first unit – Introduction to Science – where they are been learning about general science and working scientifically skills. One very excitable activity is using the Bunsen burners! The next unit is all about the States of Matter.

Year 7 students are being issued with their Science Assessment Task 1 Notification in the next week. All students will be attending the Information Literacy Skills lessons (see following) to help in completing this task. We ask that parents assist students by ensuring that students follow the marking criteria and submit the task by, or on, the due date. Students are encouraged to see their teacher if they do not understand what is required to effectively complete the task. The notification can be found here.

Information Literacy Skills lessons

In Term 1 Year 7 students will participate in “Information Literacy Skills” lessons. In these lessons, students are taught search strategies, research and paraphrasing skills, and how to do a bibliography. Students are encouraged to use these skills to complete Assessment Task 1 and future assessment tasks.
