Grease the Musical

Last week students from Year 7 were hard at work filming their CAPA collaborative project of Grease the Musical!

At the beginning of Term 3, students embarked on a new collaborative project for Year 7 by working on a component of our mini production of the musical Grease. Students elected to work in a subject they were interested in and have worked hard all of Semester 2 in Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts to create their own student musical.

This is a production that was developed by students to showcase their own talents. Visual Arts students explored Pop Art and developed the set design and props for each of the different scenes. Dance students choreographed and performed dances representative of the genre and time. Music students learnt the songs to perform live. Drama students developed the script and the characters. All of our students hard work and dedication have culminated in an outstanding production and we so proud!

Parents of students in Year 7 who were involved in this amazing student collaboration please keep an eye out for the link that will be emailed out to you in the coming week. Our amazing cinematographer and former student Molly Phillips from Molly Phillips Cinematography and Photography is working hard on editing our show together for your viewing pleasure.

A big thank you to all of the staff who made this project possible. There were many working behind the scenes and lending a hand to help our Creative and Performing Arts staff make this happen.

Year 7 we are so excited to see the final filmed performance of your amazing collaboration!
