Timetable changes

Dear Parents and Carers,
In an effort to manage “social distancing” guidelines in response to the Corona Virus pandemic Kingscliff High School will be “splitting” our recess breaks until further notice. This means that we are minimising the number of students in the playground at any one time, including those lined up to use the canteen.
You will find below bell times for this temporary change for Years 7, 8, 11 and 12 as well as Year 9 and 10. In short it will mean Years 7, 8, 11 and 12 will have their recess at 10:15am, which will go for 40 minutes, and at 10:55am they will go to period two. Years 9 and 10 will have their period 2 at 10:15 am before going to recess beginning at 10:55am, also lasting 40 minutes.
The canteen will be open for 20 minutes at the beginning of each recess for students to purchase their morning tea and then closed to allow the canteen staff to prepare for the next break. Please be assured that the canteen staff have been made aware of the changes and will ensure food is put aside for Years 9 and 10. A special thanks to our canteen staff for the extra hours working to source ingredients and ensure a hygienic environment.
These changes to the school day will commence on Thursday 19th March and will continue until further notice. I will be meeting with smaller groups of student tomorrow and Thursday to explain these changes to our student body.
